Welcome to an Omegaverse Wiki. This wiki is about possible biology, culture, and history of an omegaverse settings. There are no one canon answers for how the Omegaverse works. Feel free to add your own ideas if they are noticeably different! (See the Template for guidelines!)

What Is The Omegaverse?

The omegaverse is a fantasy universe where people have a "secondary" gender, called a dynamic. People go through puberty and have an Earth-like biological gender - male, female, or epicene - but also go through something called a presentation which affects their ability to reproduce and is related to their dynamic - alpha, beta, or omega. The Omegaverse is strongly tied to fanfiction - it originated in Supernatural fanfic, and is popular on sites like AO3.

History

The in-universe history of the Omegaverse can vary wildly. In my version, dynamics first developed around 1500 BC in Central Asia. They spread to Europe by the mid-Roman Empire, and to the British Isles sometime before 500 AD. Since I'm mostly interested in the associated English language pronouns and terminology, my worldbuilding is mostly set in the British Isles, with minor references to France and Scandinavia.

Culture

Another thing that can vary wildly is culture. The cultural roles of genders and dynamics, and the structure of families and relationships, are all things worth exploring. Mine are probably a bit more different from Earth norms than most.

Biology

Biology studies things like anatomy and genetics. Clinical discussions of genitals here, so only read if you're comfortable with that!
