= Genetics =
While the historical model had two genders, and the modern one three, the biological facts are much different. In my version of the omegaverse, there are 64 possible combinations of sex chromosomes. Come have some truly ridiculous fantasy biology!

== The Basics ==
On Earth, people generally receive an X chromosome from their proginatrix (mother), and an X OR Y chromosome from their proginator (father). In the omegaverse, everyone in XXY, and can receive any of those chromosomes from any parent. However, chromosomes can be 'active' or 'inactive', and can be 'Ɑ-bonded' or 'Ω-bonded'. Gender and dynamic develop through a combination of activation and bonding.

== Gender ==
50% of adults are male, and 34% of kids (see section below about apparent gender at birth.)
Males in the omegaverse have one of the following:
# only one active chromosome, which is a Y (ex. xͣxͣYͦ ['aaO' if the first version is difficult to read)
# two active  chromosomes, which are X and Y (XͣxͦYͦ [AoO])
# all chromosomes active, with an X and Y having matching bonds, and the other X having a different bond (XͣXͦYͦ [AOO])
# all chromosomes inactive, with an X and Y having matching bonds, and the other X having a different bond (xͣxͦyͣ [aoa])

44% of adults are female, and 31% of kids.
Females in the omegaverse have one of the following:
# only one active chromosome, which is an X (ex. xͦXͣyͣ ['oAa' if the first version is difficult to read)
# two active  chromosomes, which are both X (XͦXͦyͣ [OOa])
# all chromosomes active, with both Xs having matching bonds, and Y having a different bond (XͣXͣYͦ [AAO])
# all chromosomes inactive, with both Xs having matching bonds, and Y having a different bond (xͦxͦyͣ [ooa])

6% of adults are female, and 34% of kids.
Epicenes in the omegaverse have one of the following:
# all chromosomes active, with all bonds matching (XͣXͣYͣ [AAA])
# all chromosomes inactive, with all bonds matching (xͦxͦyͦ [ooo])

== Dynamic ==
31% of adults are alphas.
Alphas in the omegaverse have one of the following:
# all chromosomes inactive, at least two of them Ɑ-bonded (xͦxͣyͣ [oaa])
# a single chromosome active, which is Ɑ-bonded, bonds of the inactive chromosomes match each other (xͦxͦYͣ [ooA])
# two chromosomes active, both of which are Ɑ-bonded (XͣxͦYͣ [AoA])
# all chromosomes active, at least two of them Ɑ-bonded (XͣXͣYͣ [AAA])

31% of adults are omegas.
Omegas in the omegaverse have one of the following:
# all chromosomes inactive, at least two of them Ω-bonded (xͦxͦyͦ [ooo])
# a single chromosome active, which is Ω-bonded, bonds of the inactive chromosomes match each other (xͦxͦYͦ [ooO])
# two chromosomes active, both of which are Ω-bonded (xͣXͦYͦ [aOO])
# all chromosomes active, at least two of them Ω-bonded (XͦXͦYͣ [OOA])

38% of adults are betas.
Betas in the omegaverse have one of the following:
# a single chromosome active, bonds of the inactive chromosomes do not match each other (Xͦxͣyͦ [Oao])
# two chromosomes active, bonds do not match (xͣXͦYͣ [aOA])

== Apparent Gender At Birth ==
People with all chromosomes either active or inactive tend to have much more ambiguous genitalia at birth. All chromosomes active tends to lead to fully dual genitalia at birth, and possibly development of secondary gender traits for more than one gender at puberty. All chromosomes inactive tends to lead to underdeveloped genitalia at birth, and minimal development during puberty. Development during presentation is usually normal, but does not erase the unique development during puberty. These people tend to be more androgynous than other chromosome combinations. Because they are epicene at birth, these gender-dynamics are called 'Male Epicene/Female Epicene' in medical literature, but are not distinguished from 'Male/Female' in popular culture.

The term 'intersex' is not used in my omegaverse, but conditions that our Earth would consider intersex still exist. Hormone insensitivities are possible, as well as chromosome variations. Genitals can develop differently than chromosomes suggest for a variety of reasons. There are even omegaverse-specific disorders of sexual development, though I will leave those for someone more knowledgeable to design. ''But please note that epicene people are NOT intersex! Intersex activists have requested that fantasy biology, including SPECIFICALLY omegaverse biology, not be called intersex. Dual genital, dual sex, or ambiguous genitals are all terms that can be used.''

== Reproduction ==
A female/female couple has 85% change of having a girl, an 11% of having a boy, and a 4% chance of having an epicene kid.

A male/male couple has 81% change of having a boy, an 13% of having a girl, and a 6% chance of having an epicene kid.

An epicene/epicene couple has 50% change of having a boy, an 34% of having a girl, and a 16% chance of having an epicene kid.

Male/female couples have much more even distributions, with female kids being slightly more likely, and epicene kids averaging out at around 5%. (Though I haven't finished the male beta data.)

A Male/epicene or female/epicene couple have around a 13% chance of having an epicene kid. A male/epicene couple has a 62% chance of having a boy, and a 25% chance of having a girl, and a female/epicene couple has a 57% chance of having a girl, and a 30% chance of having a boy. (Also may be affected by the male beta data. There are a LOT of male betas!)
